Ahhh. Back to reality is SO hard! Especially when you've been funning and sunning in the South of Italy.
We had SUCH a good time. Sorrento, Capri, Pompei, and Positano were our destinations, and we packed a lot of fun and food into four days.
Emily was a great travelling companion. It's nice to have a comedian with you while travelling. Especially when staying in a 1* hotel. And your room overlooks a street that could host the Italian vespa scooter Indy 500. And your room smells like sewer gas (and not because of the occupants I might add). Luckily, we were able to switch to a quiet non stinky room after the first night.
Positano was just as beautiful as I remember - and Emily and I had an amazing dinner on the beach there.
We did our best to sample local wines and local gnocchi, and Emily is not determined to marry an Italian chef and move back there sometime soon!
So, am heartbroken that baby sis had to go back this morning. Seems crazy we were in Italy yesterday, and she was here this morning, but I just talked to her and she's back in Peterborough! It really is a strange world! (Nevermind that she has a sunburn from Friday and is now back in freezing cold Ontario - ha ha ha!). I miss her so much already and she's only been gone for 12 hours! Waaah!
