The Nose Knows

Wellllll, I survived going under the knife.

It wasn't fun, I have to say, and I'm still feeling the pain, but it's over, and hopefully now I can look forward to recovering and to a life without nosebleeds and sinus infections.

The operation itself went well, though the doctor said he had to take out more bone than he expected. (Thus the morphine bonus I got when I woke up).

Afterwards, my blood pressure was really low (88 over 40 - apparently some corpses have higher blood pressure than that) but it came back up within about five hours of surgery. They think it was a reaction to the anaesthetic.

So, I was allowed to come home the next day and have been making a slow recovery ever since. Still haven't really managed to eat any solid food, but that's more because my throat is still sore from the breathing tube.

I can't blow my nose for at least another seven days. And, who knows what will happen if I sneeze. The pain....

The good news is I still have seven days of painkillers left - yip yip.

I was going to post a picture, but it's just too ugly. Maybe in a few days.
